The differences between yang edema and yin edema are as follow. The head swells first with yang edema and it comes on quickly. The lesion is located in the lung, and it is mostly caused by exogenous pathogenic wind attack and failure of lung to disperse, descend and depurate. Feet swell first with yin edema and it comes on slowly. The lesion is located in the spleen and kidney. It is mostly caused by yang deficiency of spleen and kidney and overflow of water-dampness.( )
